Two ways to get a monthly calendar into Google Sheets: import our free template, which fills in dates and India's holidays for any month, or build your own grid with a single formula.
Save the template file from the button above to your computer or phone.
Open a blank sheet at sheets.google.com, choose File → Import → Upload, pick the file and select “Replace spreadsheet”.
On the Calendar tab, type the year in C2 and the month number in C3. Dates, the title and holidays fill in.
On a phone, open the downloaded file with the Google Sheets app and tap “Save as Google Sheets” to make it editable.
In a new sheet, type the first day of the month in cell A1 (for example 1/1/2027), type the day names Sunday to Saturday across row 2, then paste this into A3:
=ARRAYFORMULA(IF(MONTH(A1-WEEKDAY(A1)+SEQUENCE(6,7))=MONTH(A1), DAY(A1-WEEKDAY(A1)+SEQUENCE(6,7)), ""))
The formula finds the Sunday on or before the 1st, lays out 42 days in six rows of seven, and shows a date only when it belongs to the month in A1. Change A1 to move to another month.
Select columns A and G of the grid, choose Format → Conditional formatting, and give non-empty cells a light colour.
In another cell, =TEXT(A1,"mmmm yyyy") shows the month and year as a heading.
